Does anyone know of an effective way to manage Irritable Leg Syndrome? I'm working with a client who isn't getting much help from the NHS. One leg recently had a knee replacement, so massage isn't an option. Any suggestions?

I once worked with a client who found themselves in a similar situation after having a knee replacement. Since massage wasn't an option, we explored a few alternatives. Compression wraps, like Restiffic, proved to be really helpful, and switching between warm baths and cold packs before bedtime helped to soothe the nerves. We also discovered that using a TENS unit on the calf worked surprisingly well, it's affordable and user-friendly. It's also a good idea to check iron and magnesium levels, if they're low, it can worsen restless leg syndrome. These might not be extravagant solutions, but those little adjustments really made a significant impact for them.

@Thromborn yeah, I had a few RLS clients before. try to focus on addressing the underlying causes. RLS can be linked to iron deficiency (ferritin levels), nerve issues (neuropathy), or certain medications. Encourage them to discuss these with their doctor, as the NHS might be overlooking these connections
